In that time, Mr. Muir has vigorously fought to recover over $100 million dollars for his clients that have been catastrophically injured by a third party. As the founder and principle owner of Muir Law Offices, Mr. Muir focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. Mr. Muir’s legal practice revolves around the litigation of catastrophic personal injuries sustained under various conditions. His main emphasis in the area of medical malpractice litigation are birth injury cases involving hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy resulting in Cerebral Palsy and brachial plexus injuries resulting in Erb’s Palsy. Mr. Muir also handles medical negligence cases spanning across the entire spectrum of medical malpractice actions including cases stemming from infectious disease, cervical cancer, Doctor and Nursing negligence, nursing home negligence, elder abuse, medical battery, misdiagnosis, wrong diagnosis, surgical errors and sexual abuse cases.

Mr. Muir also emphasizes his practice in the area of personal injury litigation. He represents clients that have been involved in major construction, trucking, automobile, motorcycle and boating accidents. He has also represented clients that have been electrocuted by utility power lines, as well as, individuals that have experienced significant injuries resulting from slip and falls. Mr. Muir possesses extensive knowledge in traumatic brain injuries. Mr. Muir has been solicited to join the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization composed of the most prestigious group of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership in this organization is limited to only those attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Mr. Muir has achieved numerous multimillion dollar verdicts in his career. He has obtained multimillion dollar verdicts in Federal and State Courts. He has recent verdicts of $4,500,000.00, $2,560,000.00, and $1,850,000.00 million, as well as, recent settlements of $2,576,000.00, $1,200,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 million dollars on behalf of his clients. He has obtained record breaking verdicts and settlements throughout Illinois. He has litigated cases against the United States Department of Justice, the Illinois State’s Attorney’s Office, the Chicago Corporation Council and many of the most prestigious civil defense firms in the State of Illinois and around the United States. Mr. Muir started his career as a criminal lawyer having tried criminal cases ranging from driving under the influence charges to murder charges.

Mr. Muir received his Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology from Texas Christian University and his Juris Doctorate Degree from John Marshall Law School, with Honors. While at John Marshall he was staff editor of the Law Review. He studied International Law in Rome, Italy through Loyola Law School’s Rome Center program. He is an elected member in the Order of John Marshall, an honorary scholarship society. He has acted as a student ambassador and advisor for John Marshall Law School and has taught Trial Advocacy at the University of Chicago. He has supervised students in the litigation of cases through the Supreme Court Rule 711 program and has been active with law school trial advocacy programs by participating in trial competitions as both a Judge and evaluator. He has also authored a chapter in the Illinois Trail Lawyer’s Medical Malpractice Manual. In October of 1999, Mr. Muir had the distinct privilege of being sworn into the United States Supreme Court.
